Neurodiversity

Enabling diverse and talented thinkers

Neurodiversity including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and autism affects up to 10% of the working population and can have a significant impact on performance if not understood or managed effectively. Conversely, clients who are well compensated tend to be high achievers and an asset to their organisations.

We have twenty years of experience assessing, training and supporting adults with neurodiversity and have proven success in making a big difference to clients and their organisations.

We offer insightful diagnostic assessments, needs assessments, strategy coaching and assistive technology training.

Diagnostic Assessments are undertaken by qualified Psychologists and are useful if someone needs a full profile to understand their cognitive and attainment strengths and developmental areas. This may be particularly useful in education or employment so that the client is able to develop better coping strategies, which are based on their unique preferences.

Assessments may also be useful for people who need legal support in tribunal cases.

Work-based assessments look at the combination of your profile and your job role, and make recommendations for ‘reasonable adjustments’. It is not necessary to have a diagnostic in order to have a work-based assessment.

Our reports are written in easy-to-read, lay terms and we offer a follow up phone coaching service as part of our price to ensure that the strengths as well as the developmental areas are fully understood.

Strategy Coaching can be an excellent way of ensuring that you or your staff are fully utilising their neurodiversity strengths and any developmental areas are being quickly actioned.

Feedback on our coaching has suggested that people feel more aware of their strengths, are more confident and more successful in their roles as a result.

Assistive Technology Training is provided by our specialist IT team who are also neurodiversity specialists. This means they can provide insightful and memorable training to ensure individuals can fully utilise their assistive technology as well as increasing their own performance in their role.

Some of the software that we offer training in includes: JAWS, Dragon, MindGenius, ZoomText, TextHelp and Global Autocorrect.

80% of our clients surveyed said that their Assistive Technology training transformed their ability to integrate the technology into their job role and 86% reported feeling confident using their technology – this was compared with none of our clients feeling this way before beginning their training.

100% of our clients surveyed felt the quality of the training they received was excellent, relevant to their needs and that they would recommend it to a colleague.

All of OPM’s assessors are fully qualified Psychologists with Chartership status, HCPC registered status and the relevant BPS certification in psychometric testing.

BUY OUR BOOK

Dyslexia affects 1 in 10 adults yet most of the information available focuses on children and on what people can’t do (the deficit model). My work with thousands of adults with dyslexia and neuro-differences has shown me the key to success is having practical strategies for weaknesses and an in-depth understanding of how to use your unique strengths.

This inspiring book will:

    • Enable you to understand your strengths and weaknesses and what to do about them
    • Give you different ways of viewing intelligence
    • Give you an understanding of how the brain works
    • Outline real-life case studies for a deeper understanding of how dyslexia affects others and what strategies they use
    • Explain how personality differences affect how you think, learn and work
    • Encourage you to take action, develop your confidence and achieve great things
